Listening and lurching into history
And all is history
From the lurch of the stone’s heartbeat to the cry of
Darfur there is but one music carried through the
branches of the trees and it is carried into history
This is the song that is sung again and again
This is the underlying score
My body convulses when I
see the ghost man’s shadow;
it lingers at the end of my
hospital bed. I remember
his narrowed eyes, his smell,
his weight, his hard hands.

Trains and Tracks
The inventive art of
John Antoski
"Each piece embodies a story with
multiple visual cues, placed for the
viewer to discover. The whole
process serves as catalyst for
creation and imagination."

No one was able to understand what in the
hell I was saying in those days, but I knew that
was precisely the kind of stuff Morrison had to
deal with before everyone realized he was a
genius.
Though she's been around the world
and back, it's clear that she's shunned
the role of the condescending tourist.
Instead, on "Bamboo Banga," she's
taken the voice of the street-kids and
shanty-dwellers.

Eleventh Transmission is Calgary's arts,
culture, media, and activism magazine. We
feature the work of emerging and established
writers and artists from Calgary and beyond.
Eleventh Transmission believes that art
involves awareness and connection -- to the
community, and to what goes on in the world
at large. We have a special interest in work
that is socially engaged.
Eleventh Transmission is about creative
writing, non-fiction, visual art, photography,
community based articles, music, and
activism, coming together for the purpose of
joining people in a network of active
engagement with their creative self and their
community.
Eleventh Transmission is about increasing
the number of positive frequencies and
sharing in the enlightenment that comes from
the union of creative energies.
