John Antoski Throughout my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Alberta college of Art and Design, I have taken an interdisciplinary path towards learning and practicing various modes of expression. By utilizing a range of processes in print media, drawing and sculpture, I have produced visual art that can be displayed two-dimensionally as well as three dimensionally.
Lately I have been fascinated by narrative; the art of telling a story visually. I have been investigating this notion of what is needed to create a story. In this way I use different visual cues that are used to direct and stimulate the viewer. Each piece embodies a story with multiple visual cues, placed for the viewer to discover. I like this direct connect between object and viewer. The whole process serves as catalyst for creation and imagination.
The idea of narrative exploration in relation to object and body goes beyond surface quality to performance and installation.
