POEMS

Poems by New York's A.H. Scott.

Alive

Your warm touch
And cold gaze
It's love that's all we hate

Barbary Line

Against the sails,
the whisper curls around us
Night howls
Morn creaks
And we are one once more

Caribe Casanova

Samba, salsa, caliente
is smoking hot
Withered island breeze
blows against my skin
Then again, you know
the shape I'm in

Contempt

How far can you take it?
You know me, don't you?
Forever and a day it goes
Not, now, but before the moon
The sun rises once more
The lips of hate flow forward

Crystal Crash

Truth was so long ago
Daylight glistens on bobbles of remorse
Chards of our love
Cut, oh, so deep
Crashing against words of concrete

Distant

A tear rolls like pearl against Alabaster
Falls low in the creek
Time ticks like a flickering flame,
never brightening to night
Calm eyes cast a quake of remorse
Distant calls cold

Without Him

Without him.
There is an empty heart.
Without him.
Night reigns day.
Without him.
Blue and black turn green.
Without him.
Pain washes dry.
Without him.
Solace prevails.
Conquer.

Shades of Solitude

I find myself slipping.
Slipping away, slipping away
Like water through my fingers
Or, time through my heart
Too much time alone in the dark
So, lonely it gets to me
A last breath between tears
Wishing to fit in place somewhere
When it comes will
you be there

Daylight twinkles it's eye,
to our world once more
Maybe night is the awakening,
we've always sought to see bliss
And, I see the pretty people strollin' by
Some kind of wish could make me feel whole like everyone else
I'm praying to find my place in this twisting road of life
